When Mijumaru's final evolution was revealed all I can say was, I was truly dumbstruck and disappointed. How did we end up with a sea lion...horse...thing? I don't hate the design I just dislike that it just does not fit with the previous evolutions nor what all the other starters have done. Even this generation followed the same norm. Tsutaaja goes from a snake like creature to a snake. Pokabu goes from a tiny pig to well a giant flaming...pig. Mijumaru for two evolutions went from a clown like otter to a samurai inspired otter...to a...well...something quite different. Why oh why did Sugimori have to accidentally come across the sea lion show when researching otters? If he was so inspired, he should have stuck to sea lions the whole way through. Maybe then Daikenki might have made more sense and the pokémon community wouldn't be having so many mixed reactions to the critter. So all week I've been playing around with what Mijumaru's 3rd evolution could have been if it had stayed along the lines of an otter. He's inspired by formal samurai armour while taking elements from Mijumaru and Futachimaru. Oh well at least I can have my Futachimaru join the Everstone Club =^-^= Pokémon © The Pokémon Company "Fakemon" & Image © Nicole Martel
